The Dorchester celebrates its 80th Anniversary in a unique collaboration with international charity, Trees for Cities by planting 80 “Future Great Trees” in London.
Renowned for our luxurious and elegant Afternoon Tea which has been served at The Dorchester since the hotel opened its doors in 1931, the Afternoon Tea menu also features an exclusive 80th Anniversary blend of Ceylon loose leaf tea, For your enjoyment we have also selected a range of teas which we hope will delight you. These teas have been carefully chosen from some of the finest estates in the world and all have been ethically sourced for your additional enjoyment.

Unique to The Dorchester, Single Estates teas can be regarded as similar to single malt whisky or indeed fine wine.
Cultivated between 1,500 - 6,000 feet above sea level. This is a very light tea renowned for its excellent quality with a rich, fruity Best drunk without milk and at any time of the day.
Grown in the picturesque surroundings of the Teesta Valley and initially planted in the Victorian era, in 1855.
Bright yet pale in colour with excellent floral aromas and fruit notes.
Greenwood 2nd Flush Assam (Strictly limited) One of the finest Assam’s from the Greenwood Estate, Golden tip in the leaf, wonderful depth of colour and a fine malt flavour. A tea grown near to the famous hill station of Nuwara Eilya, Sri Lanka, at approximately 6,000 feet above sea level. A classic flavour, bright yet delicate in colour and of exceptional quality. A truly elegant tea, perfect for anytime of the day.
A blend of Sri lankan Ceylon and golden Assam teas A bright tea with a malty character with just a slight hint of caramel notes. This blend brings together Sri Lankan Ceylon, Indian Assam and Taiwanese Formosa Oolong and features natural oil of bergamot from Calabria in Italy. A light and perfumed tea with a hint of citrus. Smooth and very refreshing. Can be enjoyed with milk or a slice of lemon.
A traditional black tea which is reminiscent of the 1800s when teas were brought from the East in great sailing clippers. A bright, rich, strong cup with a malt flavour due to the choice of Assam tea in the blend. Black Teas are often called Red Teas in China since they brew up a distinctively reddish brew. They are the most common teas brewed in most Dr. Samuel Johnson reputedly drunk over 16 cups in one sitting of this world-renowned tea. A black leaf tea that produces a light somewhat mild and delicate taste with an almost toasty finish.
Grown in the Wuyi mountains, China. A smoky tea, fired over cedar wood.
Not for the faint hearted as it has almost a tar-like character.
Reminiscent of the teas that were carried by camels from China to Russia.
A blend of Chinese Oolong, Keemun and Lapsang Souchong giving a light and bright appearance in cup with the slightest hint of smoke. Grown along the banks of the mighty Brahmaputra River in Northern India. This tea is strong and full in cup and colour with a traditional “malty” Green teas are not steamed, but dried without being permitted to oxidize.
Thus they maintain their green colour. Oolong teas are only partially fermented resulting in a highly fragrant and distinct leaf.
Our scented Black and Green teas are flavoured with natural oils to Grown near the city of Kakegawa and known It is light in cup with an intensive tangy taste, yet sweet and mild. This original blend was inspired by the luscious flavours of Thailand. This green tea is blended with lemon grass, ginger and coconut. Green, smooth, refreshing, light. This green tea is rolled into little balls, with a hint of peppermint leaves that evolves when placed in the teapot A relaxing, delicious and highly refreshing afternoon tea.
Grown in the Fujian district of China. The night flowering jasmine blossoms are layered between the tea leaves resulting in a fragrant taste and perfume.
A very light flavoured and refreshing green tea with just a hint of jasmine.
This is one of China’s original and best Oolong teas. It has long twisted leaves that appear half open. The flavour is light and gentle in cup and piquant in taste. Often described as having a peach flavour.
Paris has been the inspiration of many things, including this delicious tea. This black tea blend is flavoured with currants, bergamot and caramel. You will think that you are in the “City of Light”.
Vanilla is one of the most popular flavours, and this tea is dedicated to that love affair. It is a black tea blend full of vanilla aroma and taste.
