LUMBER JACK WOOD PRESERVERS AND UNIVERSAL ROT AND WOOD WORM TREATMENT DESCRIPTION
LUMBER JACK WOOD PRESERVERS are a range of solvent based solutions of active fungicides and specifically designed to deeply penetrate all wood and joinery to give long lasting protection from damage caused by wet rot, dry rot, decay and fungi. LUMBER JACK UNIVERSAL ROT AND WOODWORM TREATMENT gives similar protection but additionally, this product contains a powerful insecticide (Permethrin) to treat wood boring insect attack.

AREAS FOR USE
For interior and exterior use on wood such as:
• Sheds and Garages • Fencing and Farm Buildings • Roof beams and joists • Garden Furniture. • Floorboards • Window frames and doors WHICH TYPE TO USE Wood Preserver Clear: For use on interior or exterior wood such as floorboards, joists, window frames and doors. This product is an ideal pre-treatment which may be overpainted, varnished, or stained when dry (allow 48 hours drying time), but on interior applications, it may be left as the final finish for a pleasing natural wood effect. However, when used externally, overpainting/staining is recommended, Wood Preserver Fir Green, Dark Oak, Golden Chestnut or Red Cedar. Ideal for general use on rough sawn or planed timber such as window frames, fences, sheds, cladding, horticultural timber, joists etc. Fir Green is particularly useful for easy identification of treated timbers and horticultural work. These colours are not suitable for overpainting, staining or varnishing. Universal Rot and Woodworm Treatment. Available in clear only. This product in addition to preventing attack by wet rot, dry rot and fungi, will also kill all wood boring insects, their eggs and larvae (woodworm) as well as providing long term protection against future attack. Suitable for use on all interior and exterior timbers. Especially recommended for the treatment of furniture, flooring and structural timbers. May be overpainted or stained when dry.
LIMITATIONS
• Ready to use - do not dilute. • For use only as specified as a surface biocide. • Always use coarse rather than fine mist generators. • Do not apply to surfaces on which food is prepared. • Avoid contact with bitumen, roofing felt or plastics. • Note- dries lighter than wet colour on wood. • Mix well before use - pigments may settle on standing.
WISE PRECAUTIONS
ALWAYS READ STATUTORY CONDITIONS RELATING TO USE BEFORE STARTING ANY WORK. Ensure good ventilation before applying and after application until the treatment has dried (24-48 hours) NOTE: drying times will be extended in cold weather and if ventilation is restricted. Avoid contact with skin and eyes, Remove any splashes immediately. Clean up spills immediately to avoid staining with paint brush cleaner. In roof areas, felt under tiles must be protected from contact with the fluid. Roof insulation’s must be removed and only replaced when treated timbers are thoroughly dry. Water storage tanks must be covered. When treating flooring and joists, boards should be left up for as long as possible to assist ventilation. Switch off electrical circuits in the area being treated before and for 48 hours after treatment. PVC covered electrical wiring will not normally be effected, but we recommend wiping any excess from cables wherever possible.
SURFACE PREPARATION
Ensure that surfaces are clean, dry and free from paint varnish, stain, grease, bark or any other contaminants. If decay is already present, remove all decayed wood and replace with sound treated timber. APPLIC ATION
Shake well before use. Apply by brush, spray or dipping. Apply a minimum of two coats if brushing or spraying. The second coat should be applied after the first coat has soaked in but before it is dry. Pay particular attention to thoroughly soaking the end grain. Where possible, dip the end grains of the timber for maximum protection.
COVERAGE GUIDE
Joinery, floorboards, roof joists etc: Apply two coats by brush or spray or dip for three minutes. Coverage: 8m2 per litre. Timber not in ground contact: 3 coats by brush or spray or dip for 10 minutes. Coverage: 4m2 per litre Timber in ground contact: Soak for 1 hour .

STATUTORY CONDITIONS RELATING TO USE/SAFETY PHRASES Read all precautions before use. Flammable. May cause lung damage if swallowed. Irritating to eyes and skin. For use only as a wood preservative. For amateur use as described on this label. Wear suitable protective clothing (coveralls) synthetic rubber/PVC gloves and eye protection when using. Do not breathe spray mist. Otherwise wear respiratory protective equipment and eye protection (see HSE guidance Booklet HS (G) 53: “Respiratory protective equipment- a practical guide for users” Do not contaminate foodstuffs, eating utensils or food contact surfaces. Cover water storage tanks before application. Unprotected persons and animals should be kept away from treated areas for 48 hours or until surfaces are dry. This material and its container must be disposed of in a safe way. When using, do not eat, drink or smoke. Flammable – do not apply in the presence of naked flames, hot surfaces or unprotected electrical equipment. Extremely dangerous to fish and other aquatic life. Remove or cover fish tanks or bowls before application. Do not contaminate watercourses or ground. All bats are protected under the wildlife and countryside act 1981. Before treating any structures used by bats, consult English Nature, Scottish Natural Heritage or the Countryside Council For Wales. Avoid all contact with plant life. Do not use on beehives or beekeeping equipment. Wash all splashes from skin and eyes immediately. Wash hands and exposed skin before meals and after use. Keep in original container, tightly closed, in a safe place. Keep away from food, drink and animal feeding stuffs. Keep out of reach of children. Ensure adequate ventilation when applying. Ventilate areas thoroughly after application. Until dry, treated surfaces can pose a fire risk. If swallowed, do not induce vomiting. Seek medical attention immediately and show this container label.
Store at moderate temperatures in original containers away from children and all sources of ignition.
SHELF LIFE
Indefinite when stored according to manufacturers instructions.
